1.1 Barnett Upholsteries is committed to ensuring your privacy is protected. This policy explains how we collect information about you, how we use it and the procedures that we have in place to safeguard your privacy.

1.2 If we change our privacy policy we will post the changes on this page so that you may be aware of them.

1.3 It is our policy not to use any personal information for any purpose other than which it is intended to conduct our business and provide you with information on our courses and services.

1.4 Whenever you provide personal information, we will treat that information in accordance with this policy. We will endeavour to act in accordance with current legislation, including the General Data Protection Regulation 2018.

1.5 This policy and the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) are designed to protect individual information. Business contacts and information are considered to be in the public domain and therefore not covered.

2.0 Individual information such as your name and contact details are used for:

2.1 Electronic delivery of emails, newsletters and any other internally generated information relating to the courses and services that we offer.

2.2 To administer our accounts and billing systems.

2.3 The supply of any services you request. This may include passing details to third party suppliers with whom we have placed a purchase order on your behalf. That supplier may further share those details with third party couriers etc.

2.4 To meet our legal and regulatory obligations

3.0 With the exception of any external organisations listed below we will not sell or share any personally identifiable information collected by us to any third party.

3.1 Association of Master Upholsterers and Soft Furnishers (AMUSF) course related information only.

3.2 HM Revenue and Customs (as required by Law)

3.3 If information is legitimately requested by the Government or one of their agencies we will comply with any such request.

4.0 Mailing List opt out.

4.1 Having provided details to our mailing list so we can send you information about courses and services that may be of interest to you. You have the right at any time to stop us from contacting. If you no longer wish to be contacted for marketing purposes, please email: s.carter@barnettupholsteries.co.uk.

5.0 We will retain all given information on the following basis.

5.1 All information required to administer our accounts system, including bank account details, are stored on Sage software which is encrypted and backed up to a cloud and separate hard drive. All paper accounting information is routinely destroyed after seven years.

5.2 Our mailing data base is stored on the Cloud via Constant Contact. You may unsubscribe and/or have your details deleted at any time.

5.3 All other contact details and information will be retained indefinitely either on a local hard drive or in paper form stored in locked filing cabinets.

5.4 We will hold the information detailed in b and c above so that we retain archived records of our customers as well as student attainment etc.

5.5 We sell courses and/or services via our website using PayPal to collect the fees, please be aware that all PayPal transactions are subject to PayPal's Privacy Policy. Barnett Upholsteries do not hold or retain any credit or debit card details.

6.0 Cookies

6.1Cookies are text files placed on your computer to collect standard internet log information and visitor behaviour information. This information is used to track visitor use to the website and to compile statistical reports on website activity.

Barnett Upholsteries is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of any other websites. When you link to other websites you should read their own privacy policies.
